This could do with a little update, if you have time!

Tenebrae is gone, it won't return again.

However, on Saturday 24th March 2012, Invocation will return to the Minories (I see the guide was updated today, so you may already know this!). It won't be monthly, though; we currently anticipate running it roughly once a quarter. The music policy is still traditional goth, post-punk and ethereal, and the prices and times are as you currently have them.

Oh, and "Tanz Macabre" doesn't have an 'r' - tiny point, but it might make a difference if someone is searching for it!

You might want to put Schattenspiel in there too; Vicky Fenbane would be the person to contact for details on that.

Cheers,
Dave

The Dev:
To add insult to injury, there is ANOTHER Hobgoblin: The Fallen Angel (near Angel, and host to the "alt." night) still has Hobgoblin signs outside.

I think Tenebrae is dead, I'd have to check on Invocation.

Aside from the aforementioned alt., Republic is also "relatively new."
http://www.youaretherepublic.com/

I suggest Reptile nights as on those, Reptile is the one everybody goes to, and Slimelight is the place everybody ends up. While in my opinion the music at Reptile improved lately, I'd probably go even if I hated the music because it's such a good opportunity to socialize away from Slimes, on accounta a) nearly everybody goes, and b) "beer garden" where you can talk without screaming at each other (as you might have to in the Aces & Eights). Reptile doesn't have the largest dancefloor, but outside of Slimes and Inferno, what is there, dancefloor-wise?

There's Stripped which is billed as "Gay alternative", though I never quite found out what supposed to be so alternative about it anyway, and speaking of gay, I'm a bit in two minds about AntiChrist. Having "I'm available" wristbands loses a lot of its utility if you don't also have a "gay" signifier. I mean, you do want to get laid right there in the premises, right? Because you could dance and pull elsewhere for half the price. So for lesgoths it might not be worth going unless you bring your own date.

Oh, then there's Departure. Nice little monthly in the Elixir bar that progresses from pubby to a little more dancy as the night wears on.

Also, let's not forget Neo Noir in the London Stone!

OK, gotta rush, so will leave finding the sites for all these to Miss Jade or the so inclined reader. :)

Some people in our very densely populated part of the M'Era Luna campsite had stuck excess glowsticks (the kind you use for bracelets, swizzle sticks, etc. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00481MGYU/ref=oss_product ) to their pegs and lines to prevent people from tripping over them at night. Very excellent practice, thank you, you rock!

Miss Jade made me buy a pop up tent, and I'm a believer. While I seem liable to fold the blighter into some tuba-shaped abomination after use, we actually had the iconic case where it was raining as we arrived at a campsite, and the tents were up and us and our gear inside within a minute. Excellent!
I went to the local Decathlon beforehand and actually laid inside various tents, on the grounds (ta-dish) that sizes as specified can be misleading. I'm glad I did, as the 3 person tent works out nicely for me, where the 2 person one I'd been considering wouldn't have. If you get the regular tent, not the "easy", not the "air", the 3 person one will set you back about 50 quid at the store. This means that the tent, a sleeping bag, and a mat will come to about a hundred quid, which of course is the price equivalent of one night in a decent hotel.
For the campingly challenged that means that even if after one night you decide you really hate camping and throw away all your gear, you haven't actually lost any money!
(The only way to lose money would be to give up and go to a hotel during the first night out!)

As for WGT, I think the (festival-only, no camping) tickets were more in the region of 80 euros, but I may misremember.

That aside, I should probably add Miss Jade's suggestion to my jokey series of sleep mask reviews. :)

Hi Miss Jade,

Great blog, thanks. You have given me great places to visit in Berlin. Have you thought about providing a link to www.raileurope.co.uk? They are a great resource for people to get to Berlin by train from all over Europe.
