In 2007 Sophie Lancaster was kicked to death in a park in Becup, Lancashire by a group of young people primarily because of her Gothic appearance. Following her death, her family setup a charity in her honour to educate young people about tolerance to subcultures and others who look "different". The letters of her name stand for Stamp Out Prejudice Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere.
