Summer Festival Summary

So the sheer number of Alternative Festivals this year, coupled with a malfunctioning camera (which has now been replaced by a phone!) means that it was impossible to report on Waregem, M’era Luna Festival, Infest and Dark Mills Festival.

So instead, here are a list of festivals, performances I saw, brief ratings and some pictures and videos I took. I have seen more bands recently including The Birthday Massacre, Luxury Stranger and Bitter Ruin and that I think it’s unlikely I’ll review at this point so please visit MissJade’s YouTube Channel to see videos from these gigs!

Welcome and recap from Mera Luna 2009 and a look at forthcoming festivals…

Welcome to MissJade’s Alternative Music & Culture Blog (or MJAMC Blog – don’t both just roll off the tongue!)

The aim of this blog is to bring the best of Alternative and Gothic, Music and Culture to the world as told by little old me – MissJade. Expect predominantly gig and festival reviews, new music release reviews, a few reviews of clubs (both old and new) and the possibility of alternative friendly movie and book reviews…

As I am based in London, this blog will probably be relatively London centric but as I am all booked up for Wave Gotik Treffen (Wave Gothic Meeting) in Leipzig, Germany at the end of May 2010 (along with a stop in Berlin) and Mera Luna in Hildesheim, Germany in August 2010, there should be some news from Germany too! Also expect the possibility of some coverage of non-London UK festivals!

If there is anything anyone out there would particularly like me to review, please get in touch via commenting here or tweeting me (@missjademusic) for where to send your wares. Be warned though, I am not easily bought and will review totally honestly.

But to kick this all off, I bring you a few of my videos from last years performances at Mera Luna 2009 (unfortunately there are none of the Prodigy as my camera ran out of batteries!) and this years confirmed lineup to date for Mera Luna 2010 and bands that I am personally interested to see from the extensive Wave Gotik Treffen lineup confirmed so far for 2010:
